What: A 36.8 mile Relay and ULTRA around Choctawhatchee Bay (Destin, Niceville, Fort Walton Beach) The race course includes seven bridges, nine hills, four bayous, and one big bay!
When: Saturday, December 31, 2022 with an early morning staggered start. Ultra runners may start at 5:00 AM, 5:30 AM or 6:00 AM and Relay teams begin a staggered start at 6:00. Ultra runners and relay teams need to notify the race director if they need an earlier start. All relay runners should be back to the finish line by 12:30 PM. The finish line will remain open until 12:45 for the Ultra runners but will be taken down at that time.
Where: The Elks Lodge on Okaloosa Island (Fort Walton Beach, Florida). The post-race festivities will end at 1:30 so the Elks Lodge members can prepare its facility for their New Year's Eve celebration.
Who: Typically, a 6-person teams is the norm but teams may add or subtract runners as needed. Some teams have as few as two runners (usually marathon prep training) while others have had 12-14 runners. The more runners, the more fun for the team!!
Cost: $35 for Relay runner, $55 for Ultra runners. $5 off for NWFTC members. Add $10 late fee after 12/11/22. *Due to higher cost for shirts and food, the race price has gone up $5 this year.
SWAG: 2022- Still to be determined based on availability, but tentatively set for a long sleeve dri-fit shirt, socks, growler, post-race music food and drink and special beach front hotel rates.
